Why and how do we have a mind?

We want to know the origin of the mind by focusing on animals’ vocal communication and emotion. Our research approach includes ethological and neurophysiological methods on songbirds, rodents, and humans. Please see RESEARCH page for more details.

During 2010-2022, this laboratory was at  Department of Cognitive and Behavioral Science, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo and Department of Integrated Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo.

From 2022, we are at Advanced Comprehensive Reseach Organization, Teikyo University.
